Police appeal to family to claim lost child
And while police are celebrating their success in foiling the attempted robbery, tonight they need your help in reuniting a little boy with his family. W.P.C. Rachel Serano of the Domestic Violence Unit stopped by our studios late this evening to make the appeal.
W.P.C. Rachel Serano
“Well this child was brought to the Domestic Violence Unit as we were informed that he followed a lady from the roundabout to Euphrates Street. So far, no one has claimed him. We are appealing to whoever knows this child or to the parent, to come and claim this child. Be informed that this child will be with us up to eight o’clock, after which he will be taken to the day care centre where he could be claimed after that.”
Patrick Jones
“Have you been able to gather any information from the child as to his name, where he lives or his parent’s name?”
W.P.C. Rachel Serano
“Not as yet. This child is unable to tell us anything, he gave us all sorts of names.”
Patrick Jones
“Looking at him, what would you speculate is the age of this child?”
W.P.C. Rachel Serano
“About four years.”
Patrick Jones
“Do you find that this happens a lot, where children get separated from their family?”
W.P.C. Rachel Serano
“Yes, at our office we usually have these cases. But as I said, we take these children to the day care centre, where they are taken care of.”
Patrick Jones
“This child has been with you since early afternoon, has he eaten, have you been taking care of him?”
W.P.C. Rachel Serano
“The police officers who were there earlier fed him. If nobody comes and claim him up to this time we will feed him, after which we will take him to the day care centre.”
If you have any information that can reunite the little boy with his family you can call the Domestic Violence Unit at telephone number 227-2222 and ask for extension 118.
