Deportee detained for 2007 murder
Arthur Young has been on the run since November of 2007 for the stabbing murder of twenty-four year old Calvin Young and the attempted murder of a minor. But Young is now behind bars after he was handed over to Belizean authorities around ten a.m. on Wednesday morning by U.S. Marshals. Young fled the country shortly after the incident on November second of that year and had been in hiding in Houston. When he landed at the P.G.I.A., he was handcuffed and was taken immediately to the Magistrates’ Court where the book was thrown at him. News Five spoke with Press Officer for the Police Department, Clement Palacio, about Young’s deportation.

“That individual was brought back into the country and he was handed over to the Belizean law enforcement officials, who subsequently charged him with a number of offences that we know that he was wanted for in the country of Belize.”

“It was with regards to a stabbing incident that ended fatal noh?”

“It was for the stabbing death of Calvin Young and he was subsequently charged for Murder, Attempted Murder, Use of Deadly Means of Harm, Grievous Harm and Conspiracy to Commit Murder.”
Young joins Errol Haynes who was also remanded for allegedly committing the crime. The incident occurred on the night of November second at the residence of the murder victim on Juliet Soberanis Street in the Belama Area. Young and the minor reported that they were engaged in an altercation with the accused men. The youth was stabbed to the throat and chest and presumed dead and the assailants then made their way to the living room where they allegedly stabbed Young on the back, head and neck.
