Driver in fatal accident charged
The driver of a vehicle that killed a man crossing the Hummingbird Highway on Saturday has been arrested and charged. Bill Nidiver of Maya Beach on the Placencia Peninsula has been charged with manslaughter by negligence, causing death by careless conduct and driving without due care and attention. Nidiver’s Toyota Four Runner fatally injured Pedro Caliz of Middlesex Village as he crossed the road after getting off a bus between miles twenty-four and twenty-five.
