Police seek suspect in city shooting
A Belize City man was shot on Wednesday and police are looking for the assailant. Forty year old Nelson Bowen was about to enter a shop at the corner of George and Basra streets when a man he identified as Jamaal Betancourt rode up to him on a bicycle and shot him in the lower back with that appeared to be a nine millimetre pistol. Bowen, a resident of Plues Street, was hospitalised. Police are seeking Betancourt for questioning.
