CLICO policyholders advised to pay authorized agents only

It has long been in the news that the local branch of CLICO is in the liquidation process and the most recent step was placing it under Judicial Management. But it seems that some persons may be wrongfully capitalizing on the policyholders, who have been advised to continue paying their premiums. A release today from the Supervisor of Insurance warns to be on the lookout for agents who are not authorized by the Judicial Manager to collect premiums. According to the release, payments should continue to the following authorized agents; Paul Lecky, Shantel Lofter, Matthias Hill, Sandra Flores, Angelina Garcia, Ricardo Magana and Carlos Peralta. Payments can also be made at the CLICO office in Corozal, any branch of the Belize Bank or at the office of the Judicial Manager, Mark Hulse. Policyholders who have paid anyone that was not listed, are urged to contact the Supervisor of Insurance, Alma Gomez, at 822-3808 or at email address agomez@mof.gov.bz.
