G.S.U. Makes 2 Busts for Drugs
In the other busts by the Gang Suppression Unit over the weekend, thirty-seven year old Jason Orozco was arrested and charged for drug trafficking on Saturday morning. He was captured near an alley beside New Asia Restaurant on Vernon Street after first trying to run. The Sandhill resident had three parcels containing a total of eighty-one grams of suspected cannabis in separate transparent plastic bags concealed in a black plastic bag. According to the G.S.U., Orozco is known to peddle drugs from the Conch Shell Bay area of Belize City and they have arrested him before for drug-related offences. In the afternoon, the Unit recovered just over eight pounds of marijuana in three bulk parcels of transparent paper wrap and black plastic bag in a white sack. It was found in the bushes around mile two and a half on the George Price Highway around four p.m. and labelled as found property, as no one was in the immediate area.
