3 brothers charged for blackmail
A scheme to extort money from a Mennonite businessman has earned three Cayo brothers an all expense paid vacation in Her Majesty’s hotel at Hattieville. Norman, Armando and Daniel Cal, ages nineteen, twenty-one and twenty-seven respectively, are reported to have threatened a neighbour, Village Council Chairman Daniel Friesen of Lower Barton Creek, that if he didn’t give them twelve thousand dollars in cash they would kill a number of community members. When Friesen went to police instead of the ATM, the cops discovered that the Cals were also prime suspects in a January twenty-eighth armed robbery in the same area. The three Cals have been charged with blackmail for this latest escapade as well as attempted murder, robbery and aggravated burglary.
