No suspects held for Thurs. shooting
In other crime news, police have yet to make any arrests in connection with a late afternoon shooting on Thursday in Belize City. Just after three-thirty on Thursday, shots rang out at the corner of Mahogany and Flamboyant streets, leaving twenty-two year old Norris Leslie injured. Leslie told police that a small blue car with dark tint drove into the area, a window was lowered and then the shooting started. Police responded immediately and a car chase ensued up the Western Highway. But near mile two and a half, the gunman and an accomplice jumped out and disappeared into the bush. Police detained the owner of the vehicle for questioning, but later released him as he had reported the car stolen hours before the shooting. At news time tonight, no suspects were in custody.
