Contract signed for rural roads
One hundred and ten miles of feeder roads will be improved and maintained thanks to a set of contracts signed today in Belmopan. The three point six million dollars in road works is divided between four local contractors and will cover selected rural roads from Corozal to Toledo. Signing on behalf of the Ministry of Works was Minister Vildo Marin, with C.E.O. Eberto May and Interamerican Development Bank rep Hugo Souza in attendance. The four companies involved are Cisco Construction, Valley Ranch Enterprises, Blue Creek Construction and A and N Construction. Funding is provided by the Belize Government and I.D.B. In related news, the often dangerous stretch of highway between orange Walk and the Santa Elena border will soon be painted with dividing lines. The work begins on Tuesday under a contract with Albert Reimer.
