7-year-old drowns in Dangriga
A family from Dangriga is in mourning tonight, following a tragic accident over the weekend. According to police, seven-year-old Akeem Davis was swimming with friends at the mouth of the North Stann Creek on Saturday afternoon when sometime after three he disappeared beneath the waves. An intensive search was immediately launched, but just after dawn on Sunday, rescuers pulled the young boy’s corpse from the water. The body of Akeem Davis was transported to the Southern Regional Hospital where it awaits a post-mortem.
