Orange Walk man drowns in New River
For the fourth time this week, police officers have had the grim task of pulling a dead body out of the water. According to Orange Walk police, early Thursday morning they received reports that there was a corpse floating in the New River near the House of Culture. The body was transported to the Northern Regional Hospital where a post-mortem determined the cause of death as drowning. The man has been identified as sixty-one year old Nacario Moguel, a cane farmer from Orange Walk town. News 5 understands that Moguel had been reported missing on Tuesday of this week, but at this time authorities do not suspect foul play.
