Three new appointments made in Belmopan
In news from Belmopan, the Prime Minister’s Office has announced a number of new appointments in the two-week-old administration. Margaret Ventura, long-time civil servant and former president of the Public Service Union, has been named as C.E.O. in the Ministry of Public Service. She replaces Marion McNab, who had been previously named as C.E.O. in Education. Both portfolios are held by Prime Minister Said Musa.
The P.M. will be getting some additional help in the form of former minister and defeated Queen’s Square candidate Dickie Bradley. Bradley has been appointed as Special Advisor in the Office of the Prime Minister, with specific emphasis on the issues of urban youth and development of Belize City’s southside.
In another appointment, Jose Alpuche has been named C.E.O. in the newly created Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade. Alpuche, the former executive chairman of BELTRAIDE, will be working under Minister Eamon Courtenay.
