It’s Not Over! Hurricane Season May Have 1 Last Twist

With five or so weeks to go until the end of the Hurricane Season, we asked the Met Service what is the outlook for the immediate future. Climatologist Ronald Gordon says that it may still be a few wet weeks ahead, and the weather bureau continues to monitor any semblance of a development in the Atlantic.

“We are still in the Hurricane Season as you rightly mentioned. We have about four to five more weeks, as the hurricane season officially ends on November thirtieth. So, we are expecting more rains and for us here the hurricane season coincides with our rainy season so it is given that we expect more rainfall to occur. And of course, there is the possibility that we can have one system developing near us so residents should be on the alert and keep monitoring.”

“So, there isn’t anything developing far out in the Atlantic that we are seeing; anything that you guys are monitoring at this time?”

Ronald Gordon

“Currently, there is nothing imminent; however, models are indicating that along this same frontal boundary after it crosses us there may be something developing along the boundary and indications are that it will drift north if it does develop. But it is too early to tell as we are looking at 5-6 days in the future, so the certainty is very low and so we are not too certain where it is going to go. So, we will keep abreast of what is happening.”
