Two charged in 50 pound weed bust
In other news from the west, two Belize City men face drug trafficking charges tonight, stemming from a big weed bust. Reports are that twenty-nine year old Frank Jacobs and thirty-six year old Rolando Sanchez were stopped at a checkpoint between miles sixty-nine and seventy on the Western Highway around three o’clock Friday afternoon. But in the car the cops found more than seats and a steering wheel. Hidden in the trunk of the Ford Taurus they discovered approximately fifty pounds of marijuana wrapped in seven parcels. Both men were immediately detained and later charged with drug trafficking.
