Fire Claims House on Tigris Street
Around eleven-twenty five this morning a fire broke out inside a house on Tigris Street. Five family members, three adults and two children, were inside the house at the time of the blaze. The family escaped unhurt and managed to take out some of their belongings, but most of the bigger items were lost to the fire. Two fire trucks responded to the fire and managed to put out the blaze. The investigation into the fire continues at this time – and while those in the area speculate that the cause was arson, the fire department says not so. Here’s what we gathered on this latest city fire.
Benisford Matura, Assistant Fire Chief, Fire Department
“Both our units, the ones from the southside and the northside unit was dispatched to the area. Upon arrival, we discovered a twenty-four by thirty bungalow house, zinc roofing, totally engulfed in fire already. We got into operation and extinguished that fire. We have investigators still on the scene trying to find out what caused the fire. We have narrowed down the origin of the fire to be in one of the bedrooms. Apparently, when the fire started the two toddlers or the two minors were in the bedroom. We are still sifting through the remains to discover what could have caused this fire.”

“Is there anything pointing to arson? Because, I believe, Mister Williams informed us that he had received threats before.”
“No. I have communicated with the investigators and they see no signs of an incendiary fire.”
