“Unlimited” Charged for Resisting Police over ‘Big Tom’
Up and coming local artist Unlimited was slapped with three charges today when he appeared in court. Unlimited, whose real name is Bernard Cayetano, was charged with obstruction, resisting arrest and assaulting a police officer. The charges stem from an incident on Wednesday that happened at the house of Kenneth ‘Big Tom’ Flowers – Unlimited’s manager – who lives on Croton Lane. Police told the court that Cayetano resisted arrest made by P.C. Bernel Valdez and later assaulted P.C. Valdez and obstructed him from carrying out a search of the premises. Cayetano pleaded not guilty to all three charges. He told the court that he was at the property to pick up some personal belongings from his room when armed cops stormed the house. He alleged that he did as he was told by the officers and was handcuffed from behind and shortly after that a police officer proceeded to brutalize him. Cayetano alleged that he was badly beaten and pepper sprayed and he never attempted to fight against the police because he was outnumbered by armed authorities. He went on to claim that police were questioning him about a threatening Facebook video allegedly uploaded by another artist but he denied any involvement. The Prosecutor, Inspector Egbert Castillo, had no objection to bail. With that, Chief Magistrate Sharon Fraser offered bail in the sum of one thousand dollars plus one surety of the same amount. Cayetano is due back in court on January thirteenth, 2017.
