Faye Lin Cannon’s Remaining Siblings Continue to Heal

Judith Alpuche

The battle over custody of the three surviving Cannon siblings continues in the Family Court. They are the younger siblings of the late Faye Lin Cannon, found dead with severe trauma at a San Pedro resort in July. Initially questioned about the death of the child, the siblings’ adoptive parents, David and Anke Doehm, were later charged with cruelty to a child. While out on bail, David committed suicide in a room at the Princess Hotel by asphyxiating himself with nitrogen gas; leaving Anke still fighting custody. C.E.O. in the Ministry of Human Development, Judith Alpuche, told News Five today that their focus is on helping the children heal.

“The children remain in the care of the Department of Human Services; and they are receiving counseling. As you can imagine, there are lots of issues that they’re dealing with coming out of this tragedy. So that’s where we are with the case: the children continue to be in our care and we continue to look at possible placement with the adoptive father, but nothing is settled yet.”

While the custody case continues, a preliminary inquiry on the criminal charge against Anke Doehm is scheduled for December after final disclosure is given.
