Why Did Cardinal Andrews Die?

A second person succumbed to the ongoing gun violence in the Lake Independence area of south side Belize City. Four days after he was shot to the head by a gunman on bicycle, twenty-eight-year-old Cardinal Andrews succumbed to his injuries inside the Intensive Care Unit of the K.H.M.H.  His murder takes the murder count up to one hundred and twenty-three for 2017.  Andrews was on Partridge Street waiting for a friend when witnesses say a minor on a bicycle unexpectedly rode up and fired a single shot which caught Andrews on the back of the head and exited his forehead. He was rushed by police to the hospital where he remained on a ventilator until his demise after four p.m. on Sunday.  Police have since detained two persons, including a minor, but haven’t been able to establish a motive for the crime, which has now been upgraded to a murder investigation.

“One is an adult and one is a minor.”

“Any motive as to the attack sir? We know that he was pounced on by a gunman, but have you been able to establish a motive?”
