Three dead as car burns in Stann Creek
Three residents of the Stann Creek District perished after the car they were travelling in over turned and burst into flames. The accident occurred around three Sunday morning near mile five on the Stann Creek Valley Road. According to reports, co-workers, twenty-one year old Royston Castillo and twenty-eight year old Louis Barillas and a friend, seventeen-year-old Marlene Fuentes, had enjoyed a night out in Dangriga when the trio left for home in Castillo’s car, a black Pontiac Grand Am. According to family members, Castillo was on his way to drop off Barillas and Fuentes, who both live up the Stann Creek Valley Road. As the car reached mile five, Castillo lost control of the vehicle, which hit a culvert and overturned. The car burst into flames and the three occupants trapped inside were burned alive.
