Accident claims life in Mountain Pine Ridge

A woman from the Cayo District is dead tonight, the victim of a traffic accident on the Mountain Pine Ridge road. According to San Ignacio police, Vidalina Deaupres, a Mexican living in Santa Elena, was out with friends on Thursday morning when the pick up truck she was travelling in overturned. Deaupres, who had been sitting in the pan of truck, suffered serious head and body injuries and later died after being transferred to the K.H.M.H. for treatment. The other passengers in the truck, including two minors, were hurt but not critically. They are listed in stable condition at the K.H.M.H. No charges against the driver, thirty-five year old Enchounauan Gonzalez have yet been filed.
