Machete Attack Leads to Charges
An alleged machete wielding attacker was arraigned this morning in court. He is twenty-two-year-old Aaron Flores of Gentle Street, Belize City, who is charged with grievous harm and use of deadly means of harm. Flores is accused of inflicting injuries on David Phillip on Tuesday. Flores hinted to the magistrate that he wanted to plead guilty to the charge and not waste the court’s time, but he was told to hold off on entering a plea since the prosecutor was not in a position to say whether or not the two charges will be dealt with summarily at the lower court or on indictment at the Supreme Court. Chief Magistrate Sharon Fraser offered him bail in the sum of one thousand dollars and he is due back in court on January thirty-first, 2018. But an old fine caught up with him, for which he agreed to serve the fine in time and he was taken to prison.
