And on this date, we also choose to pay tribute to another giant of the entertainment world, this time, closer to home. Today is the anniversary of the day on which Edison “Seferino” Coleman passed away. Sefe stands out as perhaps Belize’s greatest broadcasting personality, despite having worked in an era when government control of radio was tight and total. In addition to radio, Coleman also had the distinction–as seen on your screen–of starring in one of the nation’s first local television productions, “This is Belize.”
