“We The People” announces slate

The reform movement calling itself “We the People”, is careful to say that it is not a political party… but that did not stop it from today announcing a federation of independent candidates for the upcoming general elections. Numbering eleven and counting, the new politicians–all men–range in geography from north to south. They are Roy Rodriguez in Corozal Bay, Hipolito Bautista in Corozal South East, Felipe Tzul for Corozal North, Lucillo Teck in Corozal South West. Erwin Sanchez is contesting Orange Walk South, Francis Gegg Fort George, Percy Reynolds in Port Loyola, while Ivan Roberts is running in Cayo Central, Michael Flores in Stann Creek West, Dionisio Choc in Toledo East and Leonardo Acal in Toledo West. No independent candidate has ever come close to being elected to Belize’s House of Representatives.
