Suspect charged in hold-up

Police have charged one man and are looking for two others in connection with last week’s hold-up of a Chinese grocery in Belize City. Twenty-year-old Kendale Robinson of Ebony Street, Belize City, is charged with the robbery of twenty-four year old shopkeeper Jian Feng Liu of Antelope Street. The incident occurred shortly before eleven last Wednesday morning. During that robbery, three youths, two of whom were armed with handguns, attacked Liu and his sister, who were severely beaten. The men reportedly got away with five hundred dollars worth of phone cards and two thousand three hundred dollars in cash. Robinson appeared in court yesterday before Magistrate Earl Jones and has been remanded until February fourteenth.
