Attempted Robbery at Monica’s Pawn Shop
A pawn shop manager had to employ his licensed weapon to defend himself against a robbery of his establishment today. Tonight, one of the three men who tried to rob him is in hospital and two others are on the run. Around two-thirty this afternoon, thirty-six year old Dorian Usher, manager of Monica’s Pawn Shop at the corner of Cemetery Road and Elston Kerr Street, was leaving the store when the three men entered and held him up with a firearm. They stole assorted jewelry but as they tried to leave, Usher pulled out his own licensed firearm and fired at the culprits, hitting one of them to the arm. Police are investigating.
