Leonora Patnett is one hundred and four years old! The Wagner’s Lane resident celebrated her birthday on Wednesday. Over the years we’ve shared with you Patnett’s century worth of wisdom on how to live a good life. These days she attends church, spend time with her children, grandchildren and great children and enjoys a good fried chicken every now and then. We asked her what’s the secret to one hundred and four years old. Here’s what she told us about this latest milestone.

“I thank God that he spare mi life that I get fi see mi birthday. I 104 and I neva think I mi wah live fi see it. So I thank the Lord.

“But you have to tell we, weh dah the secret fi live so long?”

“(laughs) Well that dah weh only God could tell you because he is the keeper of us, so with that only God could say that.”

“Tell we how yuh celebrate this birthday?”

“I celebrate this good and I enjoyed it.”

“I eat some cake and I drink some Ensure. And then last night I mi gone over to Arilee and she had some lee celebration fi me too.”
