Thieves Hold Up, Shoot Inside BBOC Bus
A B.B.O.C. bus run out west was held up a by a pair of thieves on Monday night in the vicinity of Camalote Village. According to forty-two-year-old Betty Torres, a conductor employed with the Belize Bus Owners Cooperative, a pair of men boarded the vehicle around six p.m. One of them then produced a handgun and proceeded to train the firearm at the driver, demanding that his moneybag be surrendered to them. Torres complied and handed over the bag with a little over two hundred dollars. The robber then fired a single shot inside the bus, the slug coming to rest just above the driver’s seat. They then exited the bus and made good their escape. A police investigation into the robbery continues.
