Belmopan Man Avoids Shooting Death by Drive-By

Belmopan police are investigating an attempt made on the life of twenty-year Jose Amilcar Najera. The Armenia farmer was shot to the lower chin and left palm on Thursday night in Belmopan. Just before eight-thirty p.m., Najera was seated inside his vehicle parked on North Ring Road when a pickup truck drove up and fired several shots in his direction; he was hit to the face and hand. Despite being injured, Najera drove himself to the Western Regional Hospital where he remains in a stable condition. Police say they are seeking one person in relation to this shooting.
