Child dies at Agric show grounds

The Agricultural Trade Show opened this evening after a delay due to the Influenza A H1N1 scare. And while there were no fatalities associated with the flu, a traffic accident at the show grounds turned deadly for a minor. Around six-thirty on Thursday evening, four year old Dalila Chiac was hit by a white GMC van driven by thirty-seven year old Yvette Bush, the child’s neighbor. Chiac succumbed to injuries she received to the head and abdomen. Bush, who was setting up her booth at the show grounds, told police that the incident happened when she drove off and the minor unexpectedly ran in front of her vehicle. She has since been served with a notice of intended prosecution while investigations continue.
