2 Charged in Attempted Murder over Weekend
Gang violence isn’t letting up, despite the roundup of gang members across the Old Capital. Tonight, a fifty-six-year-old man is fighting for his life at the K.H.M.H. following broad daylight shooting on Saturday afternoon on Iguana Street, near the Belize City Racoon Street Police Station. Steve Finley and thirty-year-old Tyrone Barcelona were fixing a vehicle when a Nissan Altima car drove up; two men exited and opened fire on the duo. While Barcelona, who it is believed was the intended target, was hit to the left arm, Finley was shot multiple times to the body. Less than twenty-four hours later police discovered the vehicle abandoned in proximity to Supal Street Gang territory. Assistant Superintendent of Police Alejandro Cowo told the media today that three persons will be charged for the shooting.
