Police seek suspect in armed robbery
Belize City police are looking for one suspect whom they believe will lead them to four others following a robbery early Wednesday morning. Rachel Hawar of 7486 Faber’s Road told police she woke up when she heard a noise in her house around three o’clock on Wednesday morning. Hawar said when she went to the front portion of the building to check things out, five masked men who had apparently kicked in her front door, held her up. She said one of the assailants, who was armed with a handgun, forced her into her bedroom, while the other four ransacked the house. When they were through, they had removed about three thousand, five hundred dollars worth of household appliances and compact discs. The men reportedly fled the scene in a red Jeep that was parked outside. Police have not yet recovered the stolen items, but believe they will do so, as they are actively seeking a suspect.
