Man, 57, Charged for Sexually Assaulting Girl, 2
A disturbing case of sexual assault was brought to the Magistrate’s Court this morning. The alleged victim is a two-year-old female child; the accused is a fifty-seven-year old man who insists he is innocent. Plumber Bernadott Reyes was read one count of sexual assault upon a child under the age of twelve by Chief Magistrate Sharon Frazer. According to the child’s mother, on January second, she witnessed Reyes allegedly molesting the baby girl by touching her inappropriately on the chest. Though Reyes maintained his innocence, the court prosecutor prevailed on the Chief Magistrate to deny bail because of a possibility of interference with the accusers based on the mother’s eyewitness account. Reyes was remanded to the Central Prison until March fourteenth, 2018.
