After Family Time, Bradley’s March to Belmopan Begins

Darrell Bradley

As we said earlier, the outgoing mayor is easing back into private life, with a renewed focus on other career interests, including his law firm.  But, politics is still very much a part of his personal and professional identity.  Bradley says he will use his time as a private citizen to re-strategize a political approach with an eye on a seat in central government.

Darrell Bradley, Belize City Mayor

“I will enjoy a little bit of rest, I think that municipal government has been rewarding but it has been challenging.  You deal with issues every single day, I travel quite extensively.  It has taken a toll on me personally and my family so that I would look forward to devote a little more family time after March.  I would try to refocus on what the future is for me politically.  It’s something that I made no secret of the fact that I would want to aspire for central government.  In terms of the route to get there, in terms of when and those kinds of logistical things, I think that I would have to make determinations in consultation with people who I talk to on that score.  But I will use the opportunity to focus a little bit on family, to focus a lot on my law firm which I’ve kind of neglected over the last six years and to really try to reenergize myself and hopefully in sometime, not too distant in the future, to come back strong as a political force and to hopefully win a seat in the central government and to make a contribution there.”
