Gunman Targets Edgar Flores near Complex

Thirty-three-year-old Edgar Flores is listed in critical condition at the K.H.M.H., after being shot in the right side of his face on Sunday night. The incident happened on Jones Street, near its intersection with Complex Avenue. Flores was along with several other persons inside a yard when a lone gunman emerged on the scene. He let loose a barrage of gunshots, one of which caught Flores in the jaw. Despite a prompt response from police and scenes of crimes technicians, family members and owners of the property reportedly gave the officers a hard time to process the scene of the shooting. Assistant Superintendent Alejandro Cowo provided additional details.

“On Sunday, January twenty-eight, just after eight p.m., acting upon information received, C.I.B. Precinct Two visited the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital where they observed a male person by the name of Edgar Flores with an apparent gunshot wound to the right side of the jaw. He was being treated and up to this moment, is admitted in a critical condition at the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital. What police have gathered so far is that he was inside of a yard on Jones Street, they were socializing when a male person from the roadside fired several shots in their direction which caused the injuries to Mr. Flores.”

“Was he the target?”

“Well I can tell you that there was a group of male persons, known characters and I cannot tell you who was the intended target there at that moment. But he was one of the persons along with the group of other persons that were there.”

“And those other persons may have been considered…”

“Yes, could have been considered to be the targets.”

“Sir, we’re told that after the incident when Scenes of Crimes Technicians arrived, people in the area did not allow them to do their proper screening of the area.”

“Well I understand that yes, when the technicians and the police arrived there, there was hostility between the police and the family members, trying to calm them down after what they had just experienced. They had a little problem with them dealing with the scene, but police managed to do what they had to do last night.”
