Mercy Centre feeds the grandparents
It was not only the children who got their bellyful today. In fact, as News 5’s Marion Ali discovered, their grandparents received a treat that was no less satisfying.

for over four hundred elderly Belizeans, today’s Christmas dinner on the grounds of the Mercy Care Centre guaranteed some holiday cheer. It was the centre’s fourteenth annual party, and supporters such as the Belize Tourist Board and the Centre for Employment Training, offered their hands to make things run smoothly. Some of the guests were not shy to give the event some rave reviews.

“Every year. We dance talk, meet old friends because some of them wi don’t see long time.”

Each person received a gift after they were entertained by Steve Babb, Zoila Clark, and the Saint Catherine Academy Drama Group. The food section of the Mercy Care Clinic prepares an average of fifteen thousand meals for Belize City residents each year.
