Pallotti Christmas concert coming on Sunday

Story Picture
After buying out the flea market on Saturday you will hopefully still have enough change left to spring for some entertainment on Sunday night. Jacqueline Woods explains why it will be money well spent.

This is one Christmas gift that does not come wrapped in pretty paper and ribbon; but the package promises to delight anyone lucky enough to receive it. I am talking about Pallotti Music School’s Christmas concert.

Colville Young Jr., Dir., Pallotti’s Christmas Concert

“We’ve been working very, very hard, and we do think we have a very nice product to give this time round. So given the time of the year, it is a season of traditions, and music goes very well at Christmas time as well. And you cannot miss if you go to this one, or if you take someone to this one.”

“We have a very wide range of players. All the way from beginners, “twinklers” we call them, and they’ll be playing very cute kind of nursery rhymes sort of things. And then going all the way up to those who are pretty much advanced. We have students who completed grade eight and seven and they’ll be doing solo performances.”

“These are not just any Christmas songs that will be performed, but actually they are classicals right?”

Colville Young Jr.

“Well it is a combination of Christmas selections as well as other classical selections. But we have been very careful to tailor our selections such that people can along…the average person can come along and enjoy it.”

“Trust me, anyone who doesn’t go will miss out. And if you do go, you’ll be in for a pleasant surprise. The level of talents and hard work are going to be something to look forward to and something to behold.”

The Christmas concert gets underway at the Belize Biltmore Plaza at 6:00 p.m. this Sunday. Jacqueline Woods for News 5.

Tickets for the concert can be bought at Pallotti High School for twenty dollars each.
