Three people missing in separate incidents

Story Picture
Missing persons do not usually occupy a prominent place on this newscast, but tonight the confluence of three separate reports demands our attention. In the first, a Belize City man has reportedly vanished into thin air after he departed for an unknown destination earlier this month. Thirty year old Allison McField left his Antelope Street home on December third and has not returned. The report was filed by his worried seventy-five year old mother, Hortense McField. The missing man is five foot nine, one hundred and eighty-five pounds with long hair pulled back into a ponytail.

In the Corozal District, another man has gone missing. Twenty-two year old Edgar Robinson reportedly left his home in Libertad Village on Thursday and has not been seen or heard from since. According to Robinson’s brother, Kenrick, Edgar has a mental problem, but he is not believed to be a danger to society. Edgar is about five feet, six inches tall; brown skinned, with brown eyes, thick eyebrows, and wears a low beard. He was last seen wearing black three-quarter pants, a brown long sleeved shirt, a gray warm cap, and low-cut black boots. The police are asking the public’s help in locating both Edgar Robinson and Allison McField.

The third missing person in tonight’s newscast does not appear in any official police release, but numerous reports reaching News 5 indicate that prominent businessman, Steve Saemmler-Klein, has been missing from Belize for several weeks and there are concerns that he may have been kidnapped or even murdered in Mexico. Saemmler-Klein, who runs the financial services company, Butterfield Reimer and Associates, as well as the Caribbean Building Society and the Aficionado gourmet food shop, was last seen on his way to Cancun, where he has been slowly relocating his operations over the last several years. While the secretive businessman is known to travel extensively, sources inside his organisation indicate that he normally keeps in close touch with his headquarters in Belize. Speculation abounds as to why Saemmler-Klein would disappear, but none of those theories could be confirmed by his subordinates who declined to return News 5’s numerous phone calls.
