Shipyard Mennonite murdered in Camalote
Police tonight have another murder on their hands. The victim has been identified as Jacob Elias, a Mennonite businessman of Shipyard in the Orange Walk District. On Thursday evening Elias was in the area of Camalote Village, on a mission to purchase some farm equipment, when he was apparently ambushed by a gang of robbers. He was found by police on a feeder road four miles off the Western Highway, suffering from gunshot wounds to the shoulder, chest and face. Elias died around 9:00 that night at the Belmopan Hospital. Two persons have been detained by police while others are being sought for questioning.
