“Sometime after one twenty five in the morning, police responded to a shooting incident at the Faculty of Education of the University of Belize, the old Teacher’s College; and thereafter they were informed that the victim had been transported to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital. Upon making checks at that location, they observed Edwin Brian Williams, a security guard at that institution, with an apparent gunshot wound to the left side of his leg. What we understand so far is that Mister Williams was working that night there along with two other security guards. And while he was at the booth which is at the entrance of the compound, he was approached by a male person who came and fired a shot at him. He managed to struggle with the male person and then ran into the compound. And as he was running, the person followed and fired several more shots at him, which caused the injuries to his leg.”
