1 dead, 2 Injured in Mysterious Orange Walk Altercation
Police are tonight investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a man in Orange Walk Town earlier today. It is alleged that an individual identified as forty-six-year-old Ariel Audinette was severely beaten by a team of men dressed in camouflage uniforms. It is not clear at this time whether the group is in fact part of a law enforcement unit. News Five understands that Audinette, a deportee from the United States, was at his apartment along with three others, including one Oscar Payes and a woman known only by the first name Dania. Sometime around four a.m., the team reportedly entered the home at the corners of San Antonio Road and Stains Alley to conduct a search for a stolen cell phone. While inside the apartment, Audinette, Payes and another man identified as Steve, were beaten to a pulp but wasn’t arrested. He was subsequently transported to the Northern Regional where he succumbed to his injuries shortly before eleven o’clock this morning. Payes remains hospitalized in a critical condition.
