Backboards are Back in Buttonwood Bay – in Different Colors

Tonight there is a sort-of-happy ending to Thursday’s story about the battle of the backboards at Buttonwood Bay Park. The “Kings of the Park” backboards installed and sponsored by area representative Kareem Musa have been returned. But they are a different color, according to Musa – green. Musa, who told us he paid a total of four thousand dollars for the specially-made fiberglass backboards including installation, said via Facebook that vice-president of the National Sports Council, Orson Elrington, should have just admitted that was what he wanted to do without all the production of removing the backboards. Elrington had called News Five earlier today to say that the backboards would be installed and ready for this weekend’s Police Basketball Cup to be held at the park, as promised.
