Eighth Street Murders Linked, but Not Solved
Clinton Fitzgibbon and Luis Dominguez, both former employees of the Belize City Council, were killed within days of each other on Eight Street, in the city’s quiet King’s Park neighbourhood. Police confirmed today that the murders are related and were in fact motivated by drugs. While several persons were initially detained and released, they are currently looking for three other persons of interest in these murder cases.
ASP Alejandro Cowo, O.C., C.I.B., Belize City
“For those two murders on the north side, several persons have been detained, they have been questioned; however, they had to be released because there was no other information coming from them. So whosoever was detained, all of them have been released.”
Duane Moody
“Sir, it was never established whether these two incidents were related and what could have been the possible motive behind them. Can you share that with us?”
ASP Alejandro Cowo
“We believe, yes, it is related and we suspect that the main reason behind those two murders is drug related.”
Duane Moody
“So is there a person of interest that you guys are looking for?”
ASP Alejandro Cowo
“We are still looking for three more persons that can assist us in the investigation.”
