Bus driver charged in fatal crash
A Novelo’s bus driver has been charged in connection with a road accident last week in which two people died. Forty-two year old Daniel Archer has been charged with two counts of manslaughter by negligence, causing death by careless conduct, and negligent grievous harm. Twenty-three year old Benedicto Cal, who was travelling in the bus, and Neftali Zuniga, also twenty-three, who was in a Mack truck travelling in the opposite direction, died in the incident, which occurred last Thursday between miles thirty-three and thirty-four on the Western Highway. Archer has also been charged with eight counts of negligent harm and one count of driving without due care and attention in connection with injuries suffered by several other people in the mishap.
