Opposition Full of Energy in Last Lap of Campaign
Briceño has been working just as hard as his municipal candidates in the last few weeks. Just this past weekend alone he has been to municipalities in the South and West before dashing back to Belize City, which the party has targeted as a key pick-up. But he told reporters on Monday that the energy level in the party has never been higher as anticipation grows toward a victory on March seventh.
John Briceño, P.U.P. Leader
“Everywhere we go, we’re feeling an energy within the party; an excitement within the P.U.P. and the people. I have been campaigning all across this country. Thursday I was here in Belize City, on Friday I was in San Ignacio/Santa Elena, on Saturday I was in Punta Gorda, on Sunday I was in Dangriga, and today [Monday] I expect to hit the ground here in Belize City, and we feel very positive. We know that the Government still has a lot of money at their disposal, their war chest is still big. But with the help we’re getting from everybody, we feel we should be able to do well at the next elections.”
