O.W. Man Gets Run Over by Tractor

On Saturday around ten in the morning, a man lost his life in a fatal freak accident in northern Belize. Elio Grajalez was reportedly fixing a tractor that had mechanical problems when it accidentally ran over him, killing him in San Luis Village. This is what police had to say about the incident:

“Police from Orange Walk visited San Luis Village where they found one forty-nine-year-old Elijio Grajalez, laborer of Orange Walk, in a face up position. He had injuries to the face and head and he was bleeding from the mouth. The brother of the deceased, Mister Orlando Castillo, indicated that his brother was operating on a tractor that was having mechanical issues and tractor didn’t want to start. He left his brother there dealing with the tractor and shortly after, he found him in the condition that the police had arrived and found him. His brother indicated that maybe, there is the possibility that he left the tractor in gear and when it started then it ran over him. Police are investigating that matter. The tractor was found about fifteen to sixteen feet away from him and no one else was in the area so all indications are at this point.”
