O.W. Grandfather Charged for Assault of 7-Year-Old, Gets Out on Bail

In another case of sexual abuse, but in the north, a sixty-six-year-old man has been charged for the sexual assault of a seven year old girl, who she knew as her grandfather. The incident occurred back on February eighteenth, but the man was only just arrested over the weekend. On Tuesday, he appeared in the Orange Walk Magistrate’s Court and despite objections to bail by the prosecutor, due to the elderly man’s health condition, the judge granted bail of five thousand dollars plus one surety of the same amount. Because of the relationship with the child, we won’t reveal the name of the accused to protect the child.
