Still No Answers in Death of Treshawn Goff
Four-year-old Treshawn Goff was laid to rest on Monday afternoon, following a funeral service at All Saints Church in Belize City. The preschooler is the youngest victim of gun violence so far in 2018. He was fatally injured during a drive-by shooting on Nurse Findley Crescent a week ago. The child was with his grandfather, along with several others, including Ian Abraham Junior, when they came under gunfire. During the ensuing chaos, Treshawn was hit in the right side of the head by a bullet that ricocheted off the hood of a nearby vehicle. He succumbed to that injury while undergoing emergency medical treatment at the K.H.M.H. Despite several detentions, police are yet to make an arrest and are turning to the public for assistance in solving the unthinkable crime.

“I know that we are still following up that investigation. We have detained four persons, however, because of the lack of evidence we have to release them. Nonetheless, that investigation is still being followed up and we are looking for other suspects that might assist us in this investigation. Likewise, we appeal to the public that if they know anything, to please assist us to solve this matter.”

“Was it ever, have police been able to determine why exactly this particular attack happened?”
ASP Alejandro Cowo
“Up to this moment, we are still puzzled as to who was the intended target there as to why it is that that shooting occurred. We do not have any information that the persons that were injured belong to any of the gangs here in Belize City. So we are still looking as to what might be the possible motive in regards to that shooting.”
