New U.D.P. candidate chosen for Albert
Breaking news from the United Democratic Party tonight is a candidate reshuffle that will see new faces in the city and the south. At a mid-afternoon press conference today, Party Leader Dean Barrow informed a roomful of supporters that in the Albert Division, standard bearer Sidney Fuller will be replaced by Senator Marilyn Williams. Despite Fuller’s notable absence, Williams says Fuller will be her man on the campaign trail.
Marilyn Williams, U.D.P. Candidate Albert Division
“Mr. Fuller has been unwavering in offering his support to my candidacy, and I rely on that. His absence here I don’t think it’s worrying so much as perhaps he had other things that he needed to clear up before we set out back on a new trail.”
“I was born in the Albert Division, I still have a lot of roots in the Albert Division. I can’t speak to what anyone before me did or didn’t do. I have enough confidence in myself which is the reason why I accepted this candidacy, to feel that I can do what needs to be done to bring the Albert Division back to the U.D.P.”
And as Party Leader Dean Barrow himself pointed out, Williams’ presence will certainly decrease the “gender deficit” within the party.
