E.U. signs contract for Sibun bridge
Ceremonies were held this morning in Belmopan for the signing of a five-year aid agreement between the European Union and Belize. The assistance, which totals almost eighteen million Belize dollars in grants, will focus on help for agriculture and rural communities. Signing on behalf of the E.U. was Gerd Jarchow, while Prime Minister Said Musa did the honours for Belize. Also signed today was an E.U. financed contract to replace the Sibun River bridge on the Hummingbird Highway. The ninety metre span will be built by Cisco Construction at a cost of two point eight-five million Belize dollars.
