Berkeley Street resident, Fabio Paredes remains in a critical condition inside the Intensive Care Unit of the hospital receiving treatment for gunshot injuries to both of his legs following a shooting at the corner of Kelly Street and Hunter’s Lane on the north side of Belize City. “Minutes before seven o’clock, police responded to shots being fired at the corner of Kelly Street and Hunters Lane. And as a result upon arrival they were informed that a shooting victim was at the K.H.M.H. Upon checking, police observed Fabio Paredes, a Belizean laborer of Berkley Street suffering with apparent gunshot wounds to both legs. Mister Paredes was admitted in a critical condition and is still in a critical condition at the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital. What police has gathered so far is that Mister Paredes was along with a group of male persons socializing when they were approached by two male persons on bicycle, one of which fired several shots at their direction causing the injuries to Mister Paredes. Police have detained one person for questioning in regards to this shooting.”
